We are the 10th grade students of class 101 in Stella Maris High School. Stella Maris High School (SMHS) is a unique, well-equipped private school which is located in a quiet countryside, Hualien, in Taiwan. Our school thinks that environmental issues are essential. Therefore, SMHS is doing an Eco-school project and has been recognized for the achievement in successfully completing the Eco-School USA Bronze Award. Because SMHS is near by the Qixingtan Beach, we usually go there to clean up the beach once for a term. We also learn the marine animals at the time of cleaning up the beach. Furthermore, our school belongs to the Company of St. Ursula, ‘Respect for nature and mankind’ is the main concept of SMHS.
